A little help.

How do I send a Nod?

Connect with someone beside you once: scan their code, compare the six-digit number on both phones, and both confirm. Then choose their name, create a Nod, and share the link through your usual messages. Keep the result screen open.

What do the colours mean?

Green: the connected passkey approved this specific question. Red: they declined. Amber: the 90-second reply window ended without an answer. A decline or no reply does not prove someone is an impostor. An approval expires when its check expires.

Nod does not authenticate a voice or video, detect deepfakes, or guarantee legal identity, location, intentions, or payment safety. Passkeys may sync through a provider and may use a screen-lock PIN instead of biometrics.

If something feels wrong

Pause. Call the person using a number you already trust. Verify payment details separately. Never send money or disclose a secret solely because Nod shows an approval. For an emergency, contact emergency services directly.

My link or passkey isn’t working

Open Nod in Safari or Chrome with a screen lock and a supported passkey provider. Choose “I already have a Nod” to try your existing credential. Use the passkey you originally connected with. A different passkey needs new in-person connections. Ask for a fresh link if a check expired.

Your data

Open Nod → More → Settings to export your data or delete your Nod. Deletion requires fresh passkey confirmation. The deletion page works without installing the app.

New number. Same trusted connection.

Send a question to someone you connected with in Nod. They confirm on their own phone, even if the call comes from a different number.

Why not just ask them to text me?

A text from a number you already know can be a useful check. Nod adds a reply to a specific question, approved with the passkey you connected with in person.

What if their phone is broken?

They need access to their existing Nod passkey to answer. Without it, Nod cannot confirm them. Pause and reach them another way you already trust. No reply does not prove a scam.

Do I need to share a security code?

No. Open the request in Nod and answer the displayed question. Never send someone your phone’s unlock code, passkey, or a login code.

This confirms the connected account’s answer, not the truth of a source’s information or the identity of a voice. Nod is not a confidential-source protection system.
